It comes from the heart

Abigail Rae Wambach Foundation is a non-profit organization created to provide awareness, education and support for families living with LQTS

What is Long QT Syndrome?

Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is a condition which affects repolarization of the heart after a heartbeat. It results in an increased risk of an irregular heartbeat which can result in fainting, drowning, or sudden death. These episodes can be triggered by exercise or stress.

Educational Articles:

Our foundation provides education and awareness around the detection and treatment of Long QT Syndrome and other cardiac syndromes. We reach out to the parents and non-profit-organizations to assist them in treating the syndrome.

Abigail Rae Wambach

Abbey was 10 years old when she passed away from complications due to Long QT syndrome. Her condition went misdiagnosed for 8 years even though she had several events each year. Symptoms of Long QT Syndrome frequently mimic a seizure and therefore lead to misdiagnosis, improper treatments & unnecessary medications. We created the foundation in her name to honor her, help spread awareness and advocate for testing to help reduce the number of misdiagnosis.

Abbey was our precious little girl. She was a loving sister, an honor roll student, member of the recycling team at her elementary school, she loved games and making singing and dancing videos, showed no mercy at monopoly, and loved her macaroni and cheese. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you. We miss you.
